Sandpiper Golf Course

Heralded as one of British Columbia’s best resort courses, renowned for its golf and fishing adventure packages, and, consecutively, voted by the province as the #1 golf course in the Fraser Valley, Sandpiper is situated along the turquoise waters of the Harrison River, nestled in centuries-old forest of 180 ft. Douglas Firs and surrounded by the West Coast’s idyllic landscape,

Open 364 days a year, this par 72 course runs 6,500 yards from the back tees, and is gently sloped featuring four sets of tees for all playing abilities.

Canadian course designer, Russ Olsen, took advantage of the spectacular water and mountain vistas when designing the course. While there are a number of outstanding holes, Sandpiper’s  signature hole is the 486-yard, par 5 fifteenth where the footprint of the legendary Sasquatch the green.

Sandpiper’s manicured layout and easy walkability combines brilliantly with the area’s rugged beauty…creating an unforgettable golfing experience.

Sasquatch Sightings

Either the most complex and sophisticated hoax in the history of Anthropology has continued for centuries without being exposed or the most manlike and largest non human primate has managed to survive in parts of North America and remains undiscovered by modern science.”

Professor G.W. Gill – President of the American Board of Forensic Anthroplogy

The Harrison region is often referred to as Sasquatch Country. Indigenous to the area are the Sts’Ailes. The dialect spoken by the Sts’Ailes, whose name means “beating heart”, includes the word sesqac, which is the source of the English word “sasquatch“. The vicinity of Harrison Bay, Harrison Mills and the lower Harrison River is reputed to have the greatest number and density of Sasquatch sightings worldwide.

The Sasquatch is also the emblem of the Chehalis First Nation and is sacred in Sts’Ailes culture.

These guides provide an adventurous tour of the Sasquatch story.
